Q: Why am I banned from the game if I did not do anything wrong?

Sometimes MUME management has to ban sites (more technically, ranges of IP
addresses), making it impossible for the whole site to log on. If you are the
only person playing from your site (which may be a school, a lab, an internet
cafe, an ISP or a part of an ISP), then you can only get banned for your own
transgressions. The greater the number of people playing from your site, the
greater the chance that you'll suffer for somebody else's abuse.

Since we are aware that site bans may make legitimate players suffer, these
bans are only imposed as an ultimate measure when nothing else works to stop
abuse and are made as restrictive as possible. For example, this may mean that
even if an unlucky victim of a site ban cannot create new characters, he/she
may often still be able to play the old ones.
