CHANGE HEIGHT, CHANGE WIDTH

Syntax:

  CHANGE HEIGHT <4..65535>
  CHANGE WIDTH <1..65535>

These commands tell MUME the height and width of your screen/terminal window.

Most users do not need to use either of these commands, since nearly all modern Telnet-aware clients support the NAWS (Negotiate About Window Size) option.

MUME will in fact use at most one less than the specified width, as some really ancient terminal programs did not work well with text in the rightmost column.

If you disable word-wrap using "change wordwrap" or in XML mode ("change xml"), MUME will ignore the terminal width.

Some users like to override the height to prevent the game from paging the output of shop lists, etc. You can temporarily disable the pager by choosing a height of 65535, but keep in mind that clients that support the NAWS option will automatically send your actual screen size anytime you resize the window. Furthermore, MUME immediately forgets your height and width settings when you close the terminal.
