Re: Help with MMapper2

Interesting - I hadn't seen mudlet. I use console + powwow. It compiles from source pretty easily once you have gcc installed (install xcode from the installer disk). http://hoopajoo.net/projects/powwow.html He also has some good scripts posted. Powwow is one of the most used clients, so there are a...

Re: SAY echo?

That would be awesome though - add it as an idea suggestion? :) And then wait a year or so :P But sometimes ideas do still get implemented.

Re: Help with MMapper2

Edit the qmake file (dont remember the name - project file, makefile, something like that) and remove the crap about svn, I don't know why its in there.

But you shouldn't need to compile your own, just use the one linked on the wiki page?

Re: [HowTo] Advanced Character Statistics

The shorter answer is that you don't want to make a combo cleric. They don't work too well on puke, as the two most important combo spells (armour and shield) are mage ones, so it screw up your class levels pretty badly. And all the awesomest cleric spells need fullclass or close, or massive levels....

Re: Should I just find another MUD?

I hated levels 1-17 or so. Then it starts to get a bit more fun in terms of what you can handle.

Hang in there! :) Keep spamming narrates looking for a group of lowbies - even if someone is much lower level they can maybe still lead some really good xp with you :)

Re: Teleport keys decaying

Any way to tell when they've decayed? Or you just try to teleport to them and end up somewhere else?

Kinda sucks to have to re-get keys each login... i guess that explains some bn requests i've seen as troll now.

Re: Linkdrop/ Novoid and Sundeath

Weird I just logged in and grinder told me: Grinder tells you 'Set linkdrop if ya dont wanna turn to stone.' So maybe something has changed. I guess the issue is that sometimes the game can't tell that you've been disconnected... so it won't ever void you in that case. I'm not sure what the circumst...

If you write it and want someone to check grammar/spelling for you, just post back here with a link :) Proofreading is easy, content is hard!

Re: Linkdrop/ Novoid and Sundeath

Yup, if no-void is on, you'll still sunrip regardless of a dropped or functional link. That said, the timer keeps counting down even after you lost link - so maybe it'll expire before sunup, then you'd void. But not something you can count-on. Anyone know what the lengths are for novoid vs. noquit? ...

Re: Teleport keys decaying

They decay? I thought they lasted forever. Barring a major new mume release/etc :) My mage is still fairly new though, so I'm not 100% sure, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

lockpicks near lorien

I've heard that some load there, but can't seem to find them myself, despite looking in all the treehouses I could find. Any suggestions? :) :)

Re: mirror quest

Wierd. I wasn't casting too much, as we were trying to save mana since regen time is pretty important. Cleric blinded most and we slashed one at a time. I did spray some mobs though, perhaps it is just some that gave the immune message?

Re: Legend rerolls after 6 months

Now we just have to get someone with the power to make changes to read the forum. And then agree to let our democracy/anarchy have the power to influence them, muhahaha! Wish we could do some awesome supermob in-game, and get the "implementor's staff" that would let us make policy decisions for awhi...

Re: mirror quest

Schmidt led me and some others through this the other day. We didn't make it, but we got pretty close. I was able to cast on the mobs okay... what problems did you have, or just that they hit you? Need a protector/rescuer. Lots of gear loads in packs/corpses in the first room, and in some racks on t...

Re: Legend rerolls after 6 months

Agreed. I've helped several lowbies lately who I had to explain the best way to reset their age was to go throw themselves at a beast and die. They didn't seem to think it was very rp! And no-one was going to help them FOY, obviously, since he was only level 8 or so.

Legend rerolls after 6 months

Please? 12 months is just too long... Either that, or fix the (bug, imo) that has train improve/etc not affect practice %'s. If it was meant to replace rerolls, then make it replace rerolls. Though it adds this whole complex level of cheaterness to combos which is actually pretty fun to play around ...

Mmapper unable to connect - need to update configuration

In case anyone else has been wondering why mume is suppoesdly back up but I was still unable to connect - mmapper's server setting defaulted to mume.pvv.org - which no longer works! You need to change it to mume.org, then close and re-open mmapper. I think there's been a mmapper update more recently...
