Re: Demystifying wilderness
do the effects stack with move reduction eq? What eq do you mean? I know only 3 move reduction items: boots (including snowshoes for snow), saddles and certain walking stick. Of course wilderness effect stacks with boots effect, etc. If you meant move-regen equipment, then you should realize move-r...

Re: OB, def and damage
Aah, I have always been confused on the damage thing - what does the base damage mean then really? How does it get to be more than that amount? The base damage is only a coefficient used in actual damage formula. If one weapon has damage 9 and other has 18, you may conclude that vs unarmoured targe...

Re: OB, def and damage
Warsword does 18 damage, so 1 'extreme' hit from them will do 18 damage? "Extremely hard" means 18+ damage. Yes, warsword is like 18.4 damage if you identify it, but these units do not mean hps. High level smiter orc with parry split (e.g. like the group of 3 smiting orcs you mentioned) can occasio...

Re: Demystifying wilderness
When walking on foot, wilderness skill and your boots affect the movecost. When riding, riding skill and your saddle affects the movecost for both you and the mount. (elves dont need saddles though) Other than that, wilderness also makes you hungry/thirsty less often and shortens the camp delay. Exa...

On non-enchanted non-magic weapons, bless improves their damage vs undead mobs.

I just went to my mmapper2 beta source directory, did "svn update" and got "at revision <somenumber>" message only.

Re: MMapper 2.0.4 Beta Released
For that purpose, you could use xml logs though, which are kinda hard to create atm.
Maybe MMapper2 should have feature to create logs and movie files too both with/without xml mode.

Re: Metals + Armour spell
Yes, the order is probably: armour spell -> sanctuary spell -> physical armour. And it would make sense as both armour/sanc are aural spells and as such therefore outside of your physical body/armour (surrounding it).

Re: Metals + Armour spell
If sanctuary was applied first, sanc + armour combo would be overpowered as it would be very hard to drop armour from someone sancted.Wobbler wrote:Unless there has been a significant change that never made it into the news over the last few years, sanctuary is applied first, not last.

Re: How Multi-Classing Works
I seem to recall an explicit statement that the once-displayed (in the very early days of MUME VII) class-level has no actual effect, only the effective level (which is equal to the nominal level up to level 25) and the skill (for many non-spells only the skill) matters; avoiding confusion over thi...

Re: The term 'Darkie'
Alright. This is my first day, and som1 said, Hey any darkies here? in Fornost. Why anyone would want to use darkie instead of 'nigger' to represent a person with dark skin, I have no idea. I've never witnessed anyone using term "darkie" for other meaning than that of the ingame races (orcs/trolls/...

Re: How Multi-Classing Works
I gladly give the "edge" on my fireball or armour up so the mage also knows some bless, bob, maybe remove poison etc. Do you actually believe there are mages that do not prac these spells? Of course except for BNs who can't prac bless... Skipping these spells when you don't have to is just plain st...

Re: How Multi-Classing Works
I happen to find your description here a little bit misleading. Yes, they do go down, but in this case it will help you level faster, because the bonuses vastly outweigh the maluses. (mali? lol) If my description is misleading, quote the part which is incorrect. If nothing is incorrect, how can it ...

Re: How Multi-Classing Works
lvl 10 warrior goes up to lvl 11. He spends all his pracs on scout skills. Will his previously-learned warrior skills worsen? Yes. His knowledge percentage will lower a bit for all non-scout and non-ranger skills. Also his warrior-level, cleric-level and mage-level will lower a bit (these are value...

Re: powwow subs
You don't need to use regexp actions for that btw. But as Jahara showed, you need to print an expression, such as: (\$2 + " some text " + \$3) The backslashes in front of $2 and $3 prevent immediate (premature) substitution of the variables with their respective contents. I prefer to use $(2) and $(...

Re: Quick Start Quide to Level 1 Fornost
... 31+% is basically all one will ever need. Sure, you'll fail a few of your bandage attempts, but 99% of time that won't get you killed, so no point to waste more prac points on it. Get a bit over 30% and you'll be fine. However, pushing it up to 50% is totally pointless. To survive, even less th...

Re: Why does train improve not practice %s?
I have a post re-roll 17 wil and am hoping that train improvement will fix that 'blind' spell more reliably. Level is much more important than will-power for blinding, Shibeka. Besides nobody from the management ever confirmed (at least not publicly) that current will-power affects spellpower of sp...
