Re: Playing MUME w/o auxiliary software
Aliases are a good luxury but the build-in ones can do most of it as well. The biggest disadvantage is of course that build-in aliases cannot execute more than one command. Hotkeys are also nice, but the rest... isn't really needed. The exception is of course a mapper, which also has disadvantages: ...

Re: Promoting MUME
If someone wants to build it's always good to have a testzone written. Since we hire when we have work (a new project get's started or a builder must get replaced), that means there're short phases when "work" is available, people get hired, then - of course - there's no more work available. Those w...

Re: Games to play
F.E.A.R. is really nice to play. The beginning is absolutely rocking, extremely cool horror-elements. Sadly, it becomes an normal (with a few very cool horror-elements) shooter after that (well, I'm fighting lots of soldiers... how... creative for a shooter) but it still is a very well made shooter ...

Re: Any future ahead? I guess not.
A few years ago someone posted some post by Manwe (was ist 2004?)... I guess we simply have to live with the idea that those who are usually considered high management (A+) always have been sucky in regards to PR/communication and always will be. I guess that's one of the possible prices you have to...

Not going to comment on that I just want to add that those statistics really do not reflect the login- (presence)-times in the game.

What I remember what slordor said: He uses pandora because it is fairly accessible from the command-line (mhelp when you are connected to pandora). He also ran around in the emulation mode to learn the areas. About the help-files... why, how, and when do they cut off? What COULD be the reason: The g...

No, I do not believe that. I used it as example that "pure" does not mean "the best possible". The focus here is probably on the "etc".

Re: How Multi-Classing Works
Personally, I think some "impurity" gives more than it costs. But this is only true as long as do not prac too much out of class. But to me, a warrior with a few pracs in attack and doge, working cure serious, bless, create food, and, depending on the level, maybe one or two other things, is much mo...

Re: Redesigning MUME.org web page
I still think the "big black thing" on the left with the ring does not fit the design right of it anymore. Just kick it out and stick with the new design. The entire header should be taken by the "season-design" instead of the current merge. The same goes for the "white" stuff, it does not really fi...

Re: Mume & Social Friendship
"Back 10 years ago when I was playing mume from my parents house, they would always say "you're wasting your life", and I'd say "no, I'm being social and playing with my friends in sweden!". But who of those people have I stayed in touch with? None... I have some new friends now among those who play...

Re: Redesigning MUME.org web page
What I think: A) I still think the idea is good in general. B) I still think the designs should be condensed more in height, they waste a lot of space and are... too high. Apart from that, they are good. C) I still think someone should present some plan that outlines what improvements (features etc)...

Or even 90s... Last Boy Scout is a typical 90s-movie (which makes fun of typical 80s movies).
I'm not even going to comment on the rest...

Well, at least there's "stuff" in the chest - which is better than other chests which never load something.

Re: Movies to watch
I found this "particular movie" utterly boring (even when it has a lot of very good acting and is well-made in general). That does not mean I only want stupid, fast things with lots of effects or whatever. I also did not think it was boring because there were no char chases and explosions or psycho-...

Re: The term 'Darkie'
I wrote a rather long answer but when I wanted to send it... it also vanished in the server-issue we had. Short summary: a) "darkie" refers to "dark and evil races" in J.R.R. Tolkiens Midlle-Earth. It has no relation to real-life. Also, Tolkien could DEFINE what is evil and bad and "dark" in his wor...

... I did not say the characters where flat. The characters were well-planned and crafted. But that does not change the fact the movie is boring as hell.

Re: Movies to watch
"There will be blood" isn't worth to watch. It is long, boring, has a a very flat drama-graph, a strange story... only the Oscar for the lead role is deserved... but well... if you need a sleeping pill, this movie is exactly what you are looking for.

Re: Quick Start Quide to Level 1 Fornost
From my experience, 3 pracs in bandage will only get you somewhere on chars who have the needed stats (which you usually do not have on warriors - which I recommend for new players). If your bandage is below 50%, it'll suck. 30%ish is next to useless.

Re: Games to play
By the way, I was heavily disappointed by Fallout 3 (or, to put it some other way: It is what I expected from a company that made TES III and TES IV. *snore*).
