Following that logic, MUME would be more fun & balanced if nothing was delayed; backstabbing, reading scrolls, casting a spell, bashing, picking a lock...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead

I think it's safe to assume the changes were made because people who don't play the game anymore were sick of the bitching from all the people that don't play thief and think thieves are all unkillable. The changes in progress are not made because of people who don't play the game are sick of whini...

Re: Some Sleeping Inconveniences

1. I cannot quit while asleep, even if the sleeping was done voluntarily. I suggest you use the 'wake' command before quitting. 2. I cannot initiate a change description while asleep, but I can while in combat; I can, however, change my editor preference or finish a local edit cha desc session whil...

Recent changes, a bright future ahead

There have been a number of changes recently, a lot of them mainly affecting thieves/scouts. As I think the news posts on MUME have hinted, these changes are just the beginning of a series of changes. It's clear that a lot of players feel that scouts (and especially whities) are now 'unplayable'. Th...

Re: Bug forum

No, not yet anyhow. We'll see if we do some other long term solution. One problem with the current system is that so many things get reported many, many times. Another problem is that people bugreport things that are not bugs at all ("I can't believe this, I just mobdied because these mobs bash, tha...

Re: Bug forum

We'll see. Perhaps it will drive development. Then again, blatant bug abuse also leads to a pruning of legend characters. :D And.. I think very few, if any, of the bugs posted here are easily abusable in any scary sense of the word. If/when we find something that is obviously _really_ bad (say like ...

Bug forum

Added a forum for bug reports, we have started filtering out and condensing the numerous bug reports from MUME's bug-command. It should be readable to all users for now, I didn't make it writable because it's a work space, not a meeting. Maybe this will change later on.

Re: Time Sinks

Wobbler, you having written almost 1/8th of the posts on this forum might be considered a time sink as well!

Other than that, I think you have a few fair points about time sinks. Some things do exist that do not make the game any better, and just provide a source of frustration.

Re: Enslaved shadows

Hey Gothmog, could you please, while you are at it, increase also the number of available pracs in command to evil aligned whities? The only place where command can be learnt enough is Rivendell atm. So bit more pracs in BM, Fornost, or Vale of Anduin, etc. would be really nice (I'd vote for BM, bu...

Re: I Know More than Everything!

Just consider 100% an index relative percentile. At 100% in a skill, your skill level is exactly 100% of the index. The index in turn being an indicator for when somebody is "really, really good" at the skill. There you go, problem solved.

[News] Mandos sleep

Message 2277 : Mandos sleep (Nienor)
Written on Sun Mar 9 21:18:25 2008

Mandos sleep has been renamed to "shadow of death". Characters affected by shadow of death can enter Arda but suffer debilitating penalties.

There may be more changes to this affect in the near or the more distant future.
