Re: [HowTo] Install mmapper2 on Windows (Mapper Guide)
Hmm...I'm having a lot of trouble getting my scripts to load now that I'm using MMapper2. Anyone else have problems like this?

Re: [HowTo] Install mmapper2 on Windows (Mapper Guide)
Hehe, I'm using the map that came with it...seems to work fine for me. I noticed that there were a couple of "tangled" spots, but aside from that, it seems a-okay.

Re: [HowTo] Install mmapper2 on Windows (Mapper Guide)
This is probably the single greatest MUME invention known to mankind. Thank you for posting it, Jahara!
EDIT: ARRRGH! I tried making my own map, but it got screwed up because of the way some of the rooms work out (some of them go up/down without actually saying it). Oh, well.

So...higher level characters are less affected by multiclassing?Elmir wrote:Levels. Stats. It's all good.Sarai wrote:How does one balance the practices so that one's spells aren't crippled? And how does one set one's starting stats for a hybrid character?

Aren't orcs kind of forced into the dual-class role because of their stats?Grúmsh wrote:I really enjoy playing my pure shaman, and i mean PURE with no outside pracs, in cloth and with staff ! But the truth is, its kinda useless character. I dont bash, therefor i almost never land a solid spell

Re: Game mechanics basically
You mean I'm not the only one who thinks that mages should wear cloth?
*Tears up.*
Perhaps having all practices in the warrior's guild should give a defensive and offensive bonus, and perhaps a mage sans armor should have his spells hit a bit harder.

Re: Travel Points
After having grouped with some fellows and gotten to level 7, I must say that I believe that TPs TNL should really be reduced. I'm just not seeing what they add to the game, really. I understand that they're supposed to encourage exploration, but it seems that they're more of a nuisance than anything.

Got it! For future reference, it looks like: #action >+leavee &1 leaves east&2={#print ("$1 leaves "+$colour_high_yellow+">>> EAST >>>"+$colour_attribute_ansioff+"$2")} #action >+leavew &1 leaves west&2={#print ("$1 leaves "+$colour_high_yellow+"<<< WEST <<<"+$colour_attribute_ansioff+"$2")} #action...

Re: After reading through a number of guides...
Thanks, Caerroil--the second one is just what I was looking for!
EDIT: Actually, I lied. It's not working at all now, not even showing the normal gray color. And the XP script I downloaded isn't working. I've been saving them in Notepad...is this the wrong format for these types of files?

Re: After reading through a number of guides...
Again, thanks for the help, everyone. On a semi-related note, can anyone help me with this script? I'm trying to take the POWttY direction script by Jahara and make the text show up as yellow. However, I keep getting errors about parenthesis (and I even got an error about parenthesis when something ...

Re: After reading through a number of guides...
Alrighty, thanks for the information.
My theoretical stats are then:
STR: 12
INT: 19
WIS: 16
DEX: 13
CON: 12
WIL: 14
PER: 14
I have one stat point leftover. Any suggestions? I know I can lower PER by one and raise CON by one to end up with 0...should I do that?

After reading through a number of guides...
...I decided to create a half-elven mage character. The only problem is that it's been a long time since I've played MUME, so I'm not entirely sure of what's changed and how (something about "scout changes" and whatnot, apparently). I'm wondering exactly what one should practice as a newbie mage and...
