Re: The MUD Client "How do I do that?" thread

What's the purpose? You will have a hotkey which does absolutely nothing then, where leaving the target set will possibly help you out in situations where you suddenly have to press it before you think about setting the target. I really don't know if/how you can clear a variable in JMC, but if you'...

Re: Travel Points

I find it absurd that if I run with my lowbie torc from NOC to the back-end of Lorien that I only get enough TP for level 12. I mean it's a long fucking journey. Same with running to Tharbad as lowbie :/ I mean if the system is now based on how well-travelled you are instead of visiting seldom-visi...

There are many accounts of this type of connection between people.

Then again..

Re: Promoting MUME

I've noticed that there are people on the mudconnector forum asking around for advices on what muds to play. The forum is pretty active, so i posted some replies presenting MUME to players looking for a mud. Problem is that MUME is the only mud i ever played so i don't really know what are the spec...

Re: What would you change?

I'd like to see slightly extended corpse rot times on mobdeaths. It's very frustrating to spend 2-3 ticks in Valinor resting, pray to the nearest city, beg a lantern, run near your body, rest full so you don't mobdie, and have your corpse already be decayed. Maybe just have bodies last for level * 2...

Re: MUME Ansible

Transferring data from one place to another instantaneously is certainly faster than light, right? But not when it's being done with quantum principle, and not over "true" distances, imho. If I hit my toe and my twin who lives in New York feels a pain in his toe at the same moment, is that FTL comm...

Re: Question about mobdeath penalty (not complaint)

Time is a commodity (i.e. tradeable), and comes with a price/cost. When it comes to recovering from mob death the "opportunity cost" of that time becomes a huge factor and cannot be ignored (especially in the year 2008). Spending X hours recovering experience from a mob death is too "expensive" if ...

Re: The MUD Client "How do I do that?" thread

Let this thread serve as a place to ask questions about triggers and scripting etc via MUD clients. My questions: In ZMUD, how do I make a reply trigger/alias/macro whatever? Furthermore, in ZMUD, how do I make a trigger to group someone when they raise their hand? 1: type #alias {aliasname} {comma...

Re: MUME Ansible

It's the idea of two particles which mimic each other's state, no matter what distance they are separated to. In theory, you could split an atom or w/e, take one piece to one location and another to another location anywhere in the universe (and possibly outside) and use it to transmit data between ...

Re: Weapon Harness

Also, you may already know, but once you successfully have one weapon sheathed, you can swap them by just typing "draw" or "draw weaponname" and it'll auto-sheath the other one. I dunno if it handles shields too though, since you're using twohanders.

Re: Quitting Mume

Let's see. -Back in '91-'93ish, I quit because I got grounded too often for staying up playing on school nights until 1-3am. Didn't play until I was in High School a couple years later. -In High School I played casually, mostly because I dabbled in a few other MUDs. Quit when I went to college, '97....

Yeah I'm aware of that, but I can't really do much about it. Frankly, mvs are the least of my character's concerns because of how I have him set up atm.

Shrug, I remember when it was only whities/darkies, then I remember when it was all whitepuke/darkie, now it's just "puke".

I still prefer whitie/darkie. :ugeek:

Yeah, I really hate fans. I set up a #gag for every line of dialogue and emote they do, now I just hope that I don't have one following me while I'm trying to sneak or something, and get spotted by a darkie. :?

This is my elf scout, coyote. I'm terrible at drawing in paint so he looks like a gap-toothed orc, but it amused me enough to keep it that way. http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6374/stabberda2.jpg And this is one of the characters from the Adolescent Radioactive BlackBelt Hamsters, I cartoon I use...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi, I'm Coyo7e, my RL name is Carlos. I live in Eugene, Oregon, USA. I'm currently 29 (I don't know why anyone over 25 thinks they're the older group of players, MUDs don't get many kids these days,) and I am a professional computer geek, specialising in networking. I also have an XBox360, if you wa...
