Re: MMapper Segfault

Same issue on a Xubuntu (latest version) fresh install.

Installation goes perfectly, no error messages.

When attempting to launch the app, I get a seg fault with no other info.

Any help?

MMapper Segfault

Hello, After a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04 (with Gnome) I am unable to launch MMapper (the latest version). When attempting to run it via the command line it just exits immediately with "Segmentation Fault". I downloaded the 32-bit .deb file and installed it via the package manager gui. It install...

Re: Promoting MUME

You can play from the iPhone with a terminal app...but why?

I could see maybe idling in town and chatting but it would be impossible to xp/pk/etc via that kind of interface.

Re: powwow - spell subs

You can dig it up from my script, or possibly use it as it is. You will just have to implement the special helper aliases _utters, _utrans and _utranc (coloured variant of _utrans). :-) _utters fido _utranc BLUE bless _utters noselacri _utranc MAGENTA blindness _utters bfzat eaaf _utranc GREEN brea...

Re: powwow - spell subs

This is a rather trivial action, you can look at how they do actions for herbs and you will get an idea of how it would be done with spells. #action houdha={#print ($last_line + " (Earthquake)")} If you want it in exactly the same way you described you would need something like: #action ^$1 utters ...

powwow - spell subs

Hey all, Was wondering if anyone had a link to some spell subs for powwow. To be more specific I'm looking for these subs to change the hidden spell names when someone casts into the actual spell names. For instance: Change [mage utters the words "houdha"] into [mage utters the words EARTHQUAKE] I'v...

Re: [HowTo] Advanced Character Statistics

What would be the ideal pre-improved stats for a warrior/cleric combo? Also, is there a guide somewhere with how you should use pracs on a combo char? I've seen a lot of discussion on stats but information on how many pracs to put into skills is hard to find.

powwow spell timers (Jahara)

I downloaded Jahara's powwow scripts from his website and am attempting to use the spell timers. My question is, how do I hide the new variable/deleted variable spam? Currently in-game, the timers show as: cast 'armour' You muster all of your concentration... A blue transparent wall slowly appears a...

Re: powwow compile problem - xubuntu

Actually never mind, figured it out. I needed to install libncurses-dev.

I'll leave the thread up in case anyone else is having the same issue.

powwow compile problem - xubuntu - SOLVED

Hey all, I'm attempting to compile powwow (1.2.16) on the latest version of xubuntu and am experiencing some issues. I've installed the buildessentials package so I do have a working compiler. Below is the error output after running make, ./configure appears to run correctly. gcc -DPACKAGE_NAME=\"\"...

Also keep in mind that you can use Mercenaries to help with mobs that you wouldn't normally be able to kill solo.

Re: MUME Time Reset

Actually I wasn't joking. The people who do engineering work in this game are doing so when it's convenient for them. "Treating it like a business" as you put it would require work to be done when it has to instead of when people can/feel like doing it. New things are exciting/fun for everyone but t...

I completely agree.

However, I do understand the frustrations some people express in regards to how MUME is run. I don't agree with them, but I do understand them.

Re: Any future ahead? I guess not.

I think you're missing his point Timodeus. These are the official forums. If MUME management really wants to foster an environment that's condusive to communication and information sharing they would use this tool as it is has the potential to reach a much larger audience than in-game. I think that'...

Re: MUME Time Reset

We should have some fun, and try and stage a great war, and have the one ring be findable by those who look for it, etc. maybe have the "battle" of middle earth reset every 2 weeks or something. could be a really fun aspect/scenario to the race wars. Perhaps have angdil give out basic armour and a ...
