Re: Warriors and spells
Yes, some herblores, like drake-slumber, are much harder to mix than others, like baker, which very rarely fails.

Re: What would you change?
Someone with some experience playing WoW should respond to Jahara, but I will add what I know. While getting to the level cap in WoW isn't nearly as hard as it is to do the same in MUME it is far harder than it is to gain level 25 in MUME, with harder I mostly mean requires more time. From some quic...

Re: Warriors and spells
But now, when I think of it - we're getting slightly off-topic. My original emphasis after all was that warriors can nearly max everything they need while that is not the case for casters. Not even a lvl100 mage could have all the useful (mage) spells at a useful level. He still wouldn't have enoug...

Re: Warriors and spells
Thurge: 80% bash will work just fine when you are agg bashing stuff without much defence, but if you are in wimpy mood it will fail a lot vs. most things. As far as I can tell bashing doors doesn't depend on your bash skill (at least not much at all), your STR is by far the most important thing and ...

Re: Warriors and spells
Andróg, none of my posts above were directed at you. Regarding your prac-set I have a few issues with it. I'd like around 2 more pracs in each of bandage, pick, swim, climb and ride if not you are highly likely to get below 90% in the last three and bandage will be below 40% and that is just too ann...

Re: Warriors and spells
While most warrior skills gives very limited benefits from being maxed there are some that you do gain significant benefits from. Rescue being the skill benefiting (the one you rescue) the most from being maxed, also bash does have a real and good benefit even if it isn't quite as stable as one migh...

Re: Warriors and spells
While 8 pracs in cure light might be a little much, some 3-4 is more reasonable IMO, it doesn't have any large impact on your warrior abilities. So decaying all your spells, and scout skills, won't really make your natural hp-regen any better and it will be worse than what you can do with natural hp...

Re: What would you change?
An official, and mandatory, client wouldn't prevent cheating. All it would do is make it a little harder and most of all annoy the people who doesn't like it for whatever personal reason (like "bad" syntax, "bad" UI, "bad" colours, "bad" performance, "bad" whatever) and those who can't get the clien...

Re: Deep mines of the Blue Mountains
I would not recommend anyone unfamiliar with the area to enter it alone. If you do anyway be very watchful of what happens. As far as a recommended group I'd say 3 level 15ish is a minimum if you don't know the area.

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
I thought only a few of the A had access to the C code, but since a few people posting above me with more time spent "up there" and most likely more knowledge than me didn't mention that I guess I was wrong.

Re: Negative Effects of Cross-Class Practicing
An important thing to consider when it comes to multi-classing is how dependant on a high knowledge a skill/spell is to work properly. Some skills more or less only work if you have a very high knowledge in them, skills like sneak and backstab will be quite poor with less than 101% in them and even ...

Re: Negative Effects of Cross-Class Practicing
How the penalty manifests itself is "simple", pracs in all non class A skills/spells will make your skills/spells in class A less good (it will also affect your OB, hps, moves and mana which can be good or bad depending on what your main class is and what you pracced). How big the effect will be is ...

Re: PANIC! A rethink...
Guess what? I also have a scout and it never had any lack of pracs, even at level 25. Pracs after that went to some convenience skills (bandage, climb, swim), maxing some not-essential-to-max skills and a few more warrior pracs when prac distribution allowed it without dropping scout skills too much...

Re: PANIC! A rethink...
Elec: And no, escape is not thief only skill. You can always learn it and use it. Oh, wait, it takes alot of precious pracs? Yes, yes it does. But scouts dont get it free of charge either... I have said it before, and will most likely say it again, scouts have the least lack of pracs of any class e...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Er, where is the risk of being stabbed? You are searching, so you can't get stabbed! Unless you track there is no chance what so ever of finding a scout, and not all characters can track fast enough to avoid a backstab. In my test I did max backstab, sneak, escape, missile and hide and had 10 pracs...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Yes, I rarely play scouts (and I don't think that it is any secret). However I have had two legend scouts (I let one delete and the second is now fairly high level), but mostly I have a fair amount of experience playing against and chasing scouts. Snarp seems to be one of the few scout players who u...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Why should scouts be able to max all available class skills? No other class can do that. That said scouts can max more skills than any other class can, so I'd hardly say that they lack pracs, now they might be more on the level with other classes in that regard. Why should scouts be the easiest clas...

Re: Question about mobdeath penalty (not complaint)
The difference is that mobs are highly predictable, at least compared to players. You won't run into a black uruk patrol (big nasty group of mobs) while doing Bill Ferny, but 10 trolls or 3 orcs (of whities if you are playing darkie) or something might come and kill you. Also MUME is very much a PK ...
