Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
Aren't Orcs, Zaugurz in particular, supposed to be weaker than pukes, in order to make them harder to play? Edit: To give protection against backstab was the very reason awareness was implemented in the first place, as far as I remember. I would much, much rather have this skill work as intended tha...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
The only skill I had to skip when I got escape with a level 29 Human scout on testmume was search, I had plenty of pracs left for non-scout things such as endurance, parry and cure light. I don't think making backstab easier to prac is really necessary just to free pracs for escape. Escape should no...

Re: A Rules Question Regarding Prompt Information Extraction
I suppose there are situations where it could help in PK if the opponent is a named enemy player.
Edit: Can't really think of anything concrete right now, however.
Maybe I'll go to the trouble of differentiating between mobs and players.

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
I finally found a warrior and can now say that I think the escape delay is not too slow to use in pk. On the other hand, hiding in a forest still seems quite easy; I was able to hide with said warrior in my room and remain hidden until I revealed myself manually. * tt: *orc* d: exit. S HP:Fine>n It ...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
I have to agree with what the previous posters have said about the escape success chance scaling when fighting multiple opponents. I have noticed no delay whatsoever when sneaking out of a room after hiding myself. In fact, I noticed no move delay at all when sneaking through multiple rooms of vario...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
Having to use escape to get away is stupid for slower linked players because you have to wait till you've been hit to type escape <direction>, it removes the ability to just spam. Not at all, escaping works just fine while unengaged. The delay with 106% escape is perhaps a little longer than I woul...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
I can't say much as I have not tested anything yet, but after a glance at this thread I have two opinions: 1. Forcing sneak off when one is affected by panic may be a bit too harsh (although the actual fleeing should not include sneaking, i.e. anyone in the new room should see the sneaking fleer ent...

A Rules Question Regarding Prompt Information Extraction
Am I allowed to extract the exact string (i.e. not a target keyword) for something I am fighting, in order to use in an alias that passes this string on to an eventual friend or groupleader who left me behind? Example: tell <groupleader or friend> I am fighting <extracted string> at <roomname>! Come...

Re: [News] Mandos sleep
The explicitly stated intention of Mandos Sleep was to make playing a legend something special.

Collar and Fur Absorption
Do the collar- and fur type equipment (worn around neck and about body, respectively) that have absorption values actually offer any protection these days, or is this bugged?

That's for you to decide depending on the situation. Now you can, however, use your newdead character to ask for help retrieving your equipment instead of using illegal means.

Now that you mention it, it appears to have happened to a message I tried to send two days ago too.

I use bold white for enemies, yellow is for communication!
I guess you might have known that already, however.

Re: What would you change?
Pay closer attention to your ob/spellcasting abilities and you will notice the ridiculous panic effects. Do you really mean that instead of trying to outplay their opponents, everyone should just create hugegroup traps? The only ways I can think of to encourage someone to stand still and suffer dama...

Re: What would you change?
The panic penalty already stacks up in that way. This is a Very Bad Thing, because 99% of all flees are nothing that would even remotely resemble a flight in panic in a real-life situation, but an attempt at either a tactical retreat by a group to reform the line (which the game forces players to do...
