Wart & Monster reimbursment thread

Post by Ortansia »

This thread already exist on ER :p , but as there was no feedbacks from management . So I decided to post it here , hoping for an answer ...
It is absurd that it takes so long to reimburse them because The bug is obvious!. Trolls can't be led into sun even if they were holding the ram . Consequently this bug costed them +65 levels :/ which means many days playing !. So for fun sake reimburse them or at least give an answer

Here is the direct link to the original thread :) : http://www.elvenrunes.com/cgi-bin/logs/ ... ly=1&idx=0

We (various V+) have been talking about this in closed circles for a while.

I won't comment on the prospect of reimb since that's not my department.

However, I can say that last weekend I spent 5-6 hours dealing with this. This past week I even got a chance to talk to Manwe about it. Tomorrow I'm going to investigate options for detecting movement cause. If that turns out to be easy, then I'll probably just modify the check in the lowest level function to include various movements that are deemed "equivalent" to following. That's a change Manwe said he could probably agree to, but he will need to see the code change first.

Just curious, why do we need Manwe to approve changes?

because he's an implementor (kind of like Bush he gets a veto) :-)

Because he can scrap your work with pushing a few buttons if he does not like it - thus it is a smart thing (from your point of view) to ask first. You do not *have to* get Manwes approval for big things... but you really, really *should* get it. ;)
