How can i configure my client it so it displays <character Name> Says Hi how are you. The same for Emote. Instead of trying to do an Emote and have the response being Ok. can ...

Re: Ask anything, here!

You really need to be a legend (lvl 26).

Once you're there, my advice for PvP would be - don't care too much. Don't gather too much good equipment. You'll die a lot anyway. Just jump into fights and accept you'll die some.

Re: Ask anything, here!

I guess (in theory anyway) it could be included in 'show'. So that 'show 1888' gave both the 'examine' and 'consider' data. Hm. Put that on the idea board ingame? :)

Re: Ask anything, here!

You mean basically getting the description of the item?

More than that sounds like something for the identify spell (or actually using the item to see what effects it seems to have).

Re: Ask anything, here!

And if the mapper does not work, one of the things in my whois usually fixes it.

Sync issues in specific rooms/areas can be because something changed in the room since the map was created.

Re: Ask anything, here!

The reference stats are what you originally started with - these are the base for the limited reroll, the thing that decides how much you can move stat points around. Doing repeated limited rerolls won't let you move further and further from your reference stats. Your base stats are what you have no...

Re: Ask anything, here!

Nothing magical happens at 100% The benefit of 100% -> 105% is pretty much the same as 95% -> 100%. I max some warrior skills, but not parry/weapon skills where the benefit is 1ob / 1pb per 5% skill. It's just not worth it in the end. I also don't max endurance. I never noticed faster bashes from hi...

Re: Ask anything, here!

Charmies can't protect you.

Some things are disabled from charmies to keep them balanced in PK.

For example the dark wraith's ability to cast lightning bolts is also disabled when it is charmed.

Re: Some small QoL changes I'd like to see

1. I fully agree. This one is a nobrainer, lead is by far the more used command. I put it on the idea board ingame. 2. Can't think of a negative impact of this, unless it's very difficult to do. I'll put it on the idea board too. 3. I guess cha brief doesn't do this either? I guess brief is descs of...

Re: Time and Punishment

Answer me this then: Every time we open new zones and add new mobs to the game, we make XP easier. Should we, when we do this, sort of "fill up" your trophy to keep things balanced? It would make sense if we were to reduce your trophy when you mobdie, to keep things balanced. It would have to go bot...

Re: I think I screwed up my character, can I save it?

It's a pain to repair align at that level. Practicing is fine since you're a thief and can move to Tharbad. But around that level you mostly xp on animals and such - and what you need to kill are evil creatures. But can it be saved? Sure, if you are comfortable with living in Tharbad for a few level...

Re: Time and Punishment

Reducing the XP loss in the PK system was fairly easy to motivate - We have a lot of high level chars, and with the extremely high PK xp loss at higher levels, people were just afraid to risk death with them. There is also the potential for EQ loss if you die in PK, which is quite painful. For mobde...

Re: Time and Punishment

It is indeed time consuming to level on MUME, compared to most games. And when you die, the loss of both xp and eq are potentially very high. To me, this is part of MUME's attraction. There's an adrenaline rush associated with danger, something most games lack. The XP loss for PK has been reduced re...

Re: Targeting in PK situations

The black numenoreans, whom you see as *a man* or *a woman* ingame (when they are not named), are both targettable as *man*. Man in this context is the race of men, just as trolls and orcs are races. So don't make a target setting for *woman* :) And yes, MUME PK is fast and deadly! It's hard to expl...

Re: Targeting in PK situations

You can't order a charmie to hit *race*. You must know the name of the target. So named ones like *Bork the orc* you can order them to hit with "hit bork". If the target is not named, what you have to do is hit it, and order your charmies to assist you. If there is a sneaker, what you need to do is ...

Re: Ask anything, here!

1. Most warrior get two spells: cure light and bless. Bless is good to keep up for the +5ob it gives. It's also pretty easy to learn, some 3-4 pracs is enough. With 3 pracs of cure light, a full warrior mana-pool will give you some 30-50ish hit points extra, which is handy. Remove poison is higher l...
