Vortenos,
For two-handed weapons? One handed weapons work fine.

Weapon Harness
How does a weapon harness work? I fooled around for an hour or so trying to "sheath hearness" wear harness, ad nauseum. I could never get my two handed weapon to work with it. Is there a way to sheath a warsword, etc? I can put it in a pouch, etc. buty it seems pretty out of whack roleplay wise. Bes...

Warriors and spells
As a mostly pure warrior, I have 11 pracs in spells (8 in cure light and 3 in bless). Could those practices be put into something more warriorish? Is a "pure' warrior even practical? Or is a pure warrior something that wouldn't even advance in "Tolkien's Middle Earth"? I ask because it would be supe...

Re: Possible Effects of Reducing Parrysplit
this is actually an area i would love to help develop. defense doesnt mean anything in the game now as far as i can tell. 92 abs 165 defense for my ob warrior yet fighting two level 25 plus trolls i get absolutely pounded if both get engaged. aragorn fought many orcs by himself parrying lots of hit...

Re: Travel Points
If TPS are supposed to encourage exploration, aren't deathtraps going to do the opposite (especially unrecoverable ones) for new players? I have zero desire to map Arda myself now since losing everything I had.

Re: Trapped by a clump of roots...
I'm guessing it is a no-no to actually mention the piece of equipment. Not sure why that would be. After all, Rivendell is a secret place but it gets mentioned all the time. Knowing what it is doesn't tell us how to use it and knowing it exists doens't make it any easier to find... <shrug>

Re: Travel Points
I'm new to MUME (playing a whitie) and haven't had any issue getting TPS. Only on like lv 7 and 8 did I have any case of needing TPS instead of XP to get the next level. I've never been south of Tharbad or East of Rivendell. I do tend to walk alot though. Maybe that matters? Of course, I end up camp...

Re: Trapped by a clump of roots...
I expect he is talking about the roots north of Forlond. Not sure how close those are to the werewolf. The werewolves between MD and GH wander near vines, not roots. I don' think they trap you (that I recall).

Re: Question about mobdeath penalty (not complaint)
Yep, it was my age... I'm 18 again. Took two days to recover the XP. I'll have to remember "open door".

Re: Question about mobdeath penalty (not complaint)
I didn't even look at my age. That would probably explain it. Thanks, ya'll.

Question about mobdeath penalty (not complaint)
Last night me and another char had the learning experience of getting mobdeath-ed by Ferny (he repopped 5 minutes after we did him in and we were try.) Anyway, I lost a level, etc. Does this penalty also affect "trained" stats? My Str and Con are one point lower than they were before I died. THese w...

Re: New Quests (or quests for new players)
Fornost beggar / Shire wise old hobbit ( I was told by AInur that it wasn't complete). The Giant in the shire wasn't loading, but I believe it did last night. Trolls did me in though, and that's my problem, not MUME's. I want to repeat that I wasn't asking for quests to help level (give lots of XP)....

Re: New Quests (or quests for new players)
I should have said "unfinished" or "noload", not broken. To the new users, the end result is the same, but there is a difference. I wouldn't say that quests should be catered to new users either; I like how MUME is a rigorous world. Demanding is good. However, I think it is a "no-brainer" to say que...

New Quests (or quests for new players)
As a new player in MUME, I have been looking around for some new quests (i.e. exploring). As far as roleplaying, I think quests go hand in hand, so to speak. Most of the quests I have come across, however have been "noload" or broken. I ask someone about them, and I am told "don't bother with that",...

Re: Time Sinks
I'll have to agree about the shops... couldn't the "assistant" (Nob) work the late shift while the shop owner went to have dinner with his family? It is the nature of online acticities that the more you advance, the longer things take. I just don't see the purpose of having to coordinate selling jun...

Re: What would you change?
I would change the xp limitation for creatures you've encountered before. Or at least still give xp, but maybe not as much. As a new player, I'm exploring and run across plenty of things that put me in peril, but since they're common, I get no experience from them anymore. THAT'S WHAT EXPERINCE IS!...
