Well the real issue is that the TP-system punishes those who are skillful and efficient XP'ers, i dont think that's justifiable in any way

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Here it's not so much about "my" class being nerfed, but rather a huge imbalanced caused to one of the classes for no apparent reason. Thieves weren't better than any other class, more like the opposite they were probably the worst class, now they're just...terrible.

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
I second Leikzums post. I logged on my zorc-scout the other day cause i figured, well, it might just be playable despite these changes...lets just say i was horribly wrong. You can't do anything even remotely interesting anymore with the scoutclass, the ONLY thing left to do is stabbing people befor...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Oh come on Caerroil, dont be ridiculous. If you're in a closeable, which I assume is what you're on about, dont seriously tell me that you find it difficult to find a scout who "relocates" every 2 sec? You're using the absolutely worst tactic ever to find him, of course he will survive if you dont k...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Finwe, Caerroil obviously doesn't play much scout so dont blame him for not knowing how it works :) Anyone who claims that 'scouts can easily hide in a closeable with a few rooms and survive forever' has clearly never tried. It's practically impossible to even land a hide quick in less than 5 rooms ...

Re: After reading through a number of guides...
Dont, under any circumstances, go with nothing below max int/wis, you'll regret it. Str:10 Int:19 Wis:18 Dex:10 Con:12 Wil:14 Per:14. train improve con train neglect per Those stats are pretty good, at least for a PK char. If you're only gonna XP, then I would personally lower con/dex and get a bit ...

If you want to interpret my comment in that way, Gothmog, you're right. But i know, and you know, that you understand what i really meant

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Gothmog, adding delays to MUME can never be called progress. It's a huge drawback.

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
They will still have this advantage. As someone pointed out, this change punishes slowlinked and less skillful players, but a good scoutplayer will have no problems keeping to the stab'n-run PK that everyone despises so much.

Re: Travel Points
I also do like Kenzu and get at least 10k tp's before i start exping. When i leveled my last character i spent twice, sometimes three times more time on getting TP's than exping. I mostly played solo, but i wouldn't say that i didn't travel a lot. I just exped too fast, and for this i was punished. ...

Re: Recent changes, a bright future ahead
Like Relim, I'm also very happy that the management is finally becoming more active. Every change so far has been really good, and it's great to see you communicating more with players than before. Having said that, i think it was a bit unecessary to implement this change to thieves. The class was f...

Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
Yes, and my point is that if noone will use it then where is the use of adding it? What does it add to the gaming experience? Read Mindy's post for example and you'll understand that the whole concept of escape is not gonna work for PK against certain classes (or at all?). People will rather turn sn...

Where did i say that? I merely stated that if these changes take effect, escape will be useless in a 2-roomer
against casters, and i stand for that opinion

Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
Azazello, I may be biased, but wouldn't it be silly to argue from a perspective of which I dont know as much? Sort of like what you're doing right now about thieves? ;) I've spent at least 50% of my time on MUME over the past 3-4 years playing scout, i think my comments have merit. It may seem biase...
Re: Link cap
Well, i suppose it'd be fair. Very boring though as Rogon said, and far less enjoyable. Most people who have slow link also have extremely poor clientsetup, which is a much more important feature in PK than linkspeed will ever be. I'd say linkspeed comes after client and fighting techniques (prespam...

Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
It's justified with a downgrade of scouts abilty to survive in the open, in closeables they should be the same as any other class. Strong vs some, weak against others. To answer your question, a scout is quite viable in closeables without sneak against some enemies. For example if you're fighting ot...

Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
A required skill is also quite bad for combos, since they dont have enough pracs. On my scouts i will either reroll warrior if possible, or i'll start playing as a backstabber only...which means i'll get bored and just not play my thieves at all :) Aliasing move keys to escape is a really good idea ...
