What spell did you try to cast on the mobs, was it perhaps sleep? All undead mobs are immune to sleep, whether they are found inside the mirror quest or elsewhere. IMO the only stat you want/need to adapt based on weapon class is STR, so you get enough to wield your weapon of choice. Science the problem with your suggestion is that it would require a significant amount of effort from people that there is a significant lack of already (that is people with C-code access and time to spend on MUME).

Yes, there is a version of the "class distance" formula in effect, though it is more complex now since the difficulty of the skill/spell also has an effect. But yes, for every class skills/spells from other classes has varying effect on the original class.
