Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
Edvard, it's too easy surviving playing scout if you play with backstab and in the open. This change does not make that kind of scout ANY easier to kill what so ever. Rather it will be even easier to survive with them, since they can now escape away from any potential risk of fleeing into a closeabl...

Re: Testmume feedback on scout changes revision 2
Well, I have rather extensive experience playing scouts and I'm gonna tell you right now that the nosneak with panic flag is gonna break the class if you try to do anything else than backstabbing. 4 seconds is too big a delay for PK, it will get you slaughtered against warriors, mages and multiple o...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
Wobbler, you forget that a level 29 human has ~25 pracs more than a level 29 tark scout, and ~40? more than a Zaugurz orc. You'd have to skip alot more than search if you wanted escape as well, for combo-scouts that'd be a definite killer as they lack pracs already. As an example I have to keep my w...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
Ugurz ideas are almost all well thought through and balanced. I would still go with Relim's #2 though, forget about these changes. There is no problem with thieves today, it's really easy to avoid backstabbing if you just pay attention. (I died to stab 3 days ago so this time i'm not biased!) I thin...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
Of course i tested it Azazello, but only for a short time. However, you dont have to test much to realize that it would kill thieves in closeables, and though Fankil is right that I indeed am biased, i still believe i have a pretty good point. We dont want backstabbing-running-foresthiding thieves, ...

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
I'm against adding any kind of delay to sneak because it doesn't promote the fighting thieves. I think any change in thieves should be focused on giving them benefits when fighting, and maluses while backstabbing. Perhaps make it so that you can't backstab rather than sneak for X seconds after you f...

I agree with Snarp on all accounts.
Wobbler, you already see the thief if he flees into your room.

Re: Test-mume feedback on scout changes
No sneak while paniced is a really really bad idea. All it does it forcing thieves to use backstab and run tactics, effectively killing all possibilities to fight in a more normal way. Please do not implement this, it will be devastating for all of those who like to do actual *fighting* with their t...

Re: [News] Mandos sleep
The problem is that the change is very unfair to casters. A warrior CAN still go loot his corpse with the -127ob and -127db, but a mage or BN can NOT pray and run to get his corpse without any mana. The warrior is still sitting on his 400hp and 150 moves, but the caster has ~150-200 and 90 moves. Ju...

Re: [Project] Supermobs
I feel that #1 and #2 are sort of contradictory. If they are made less trivial more people will die doing them, or it will take a lot more time doing them. Neither contributes to #1, rather the opposite. I'm not sure if smobbing can ever be 'fun', to be honest. The problem is that mobiles will alway...

Re: What would you change?
Fankil, I see where you're coming from. However, the reroll system was changed a while back and I doubt there would be much trouble changing it back, and it would make a lot of people very happy. Perhaps it wouldn't be such a huge deal for many people, and not something you'd consider worthy of 'the...

Re: What would you change?
Seriously though, Ilie, if you're looking at this. Please please pretty please consider the 1-month for a partial reroll. Having it at 1 year is just a killer for those of us who really enjoy tweaking our chars to the max, i've had 2 of my favourite chars retired now for 9 months cause i want them t...

Re: What would you change?
I would give dwarves a mount that is not completely, utterly, and fantastically (!) useless. (Mule/pony) I would change tracks so that you can always see them for 15+ ticks, and that they dont decay randomly due to weather. I would remove teleport and portal spell. I would make all doors blockable/p...

Re: Survey: World problems
I think it'd be nice if someone fixed the bug so that you can bash blocks on nobash doors, such as Moria gate for example.
Also, make all doors pickable and blockable even if they are 'bushes'?
