Known as the Mirrormere by Men, to the dwarves this lake in Azanulbizar is known as Kheled-zarâm ("glass-lake"). Here, early in the First Age, Durin I beheld the reflection of Durin's Crown. Ever after, these stars could be seen reflected in the water of Kheled-zarâm at any time of the day or night, and the lake was always smooth. However, the faces of those who look into the waters cannot be seen.
