The old man's shrivelled face is obscured by a great quantity of matted
red hair, and his dark eyes look eagerly from under his bushy red eyebrows.
His clothes are inexpensive and not very new, but a fine silken
handkerchief hangs out of his pocket. If not for a sudden fierce scowl
that sometimes distorts his face, his appearance would be completely
peaceful and ordinary.
