Rules Updates for Virtual Labbing and Group Manager

We have made a number of updates to MUME's rules to permanently allow the use of Virtual Labbing and Group Manager both in and out of PK. These updates are intended to enshrine the rules from the recent pilot. All players should review the new rules. Changes include:

• RULES CLIENT SETTINGS has replaced RULES ACTIONS and RULES MAPPERS
• RULES ABUSE and RULES COMMUNICATION CHANNELS have been updated to remove virtual labbing related restrictions.
• RULES INTERRACE now more specifically prohibits sharing information with other sides of the war.

We thank everyone who participated in the pilot and shared feedback. For those curious, at our end of pilot poll 63% of respondents were positive on virtual labbing while only 16% answered negatively.

We also noted that many players requested MUME-supported group manager servers. The features of a group manager server are something we intend to evaluate and develop further, though it may take some time to ensure they promote fairness, strategic gameplay, and fun.
