MUME Help
CHANGE PAGER, CHANGE VIEWER, PAGER, PAGING, VIEWER
The pager is used to display output that exceeds your terminal height, for examplechange pager off|simplechange viewer off|simple|external
help
subjects.
The viewer is used to view long texts, possibly in
a client-supplied viewer, for example help -v
help or view
<message> at a board.
The default setting is called simple; it breaks the output into
"pages" the size of your screen and gives you a
prompt that allows you to move forwards or backwards a
page at a time.
The off option will send any such texts as regular output with no
pagination.
You can modify your screen height with the
change height command.
Users with clients that support the special
MUME Client Protocol (e.g.,
powwow and
powtty) can use change viewer
external to instruct MUME to send viewed text to
whatever your client uses to display these texts.
Note: Powwow users will need to set the
POWWOWPAGER environment variable and remember to
#init before this feature will work.
