In the shadowed expanse of the Misty Mountains, the feud between Beorn and the Great Goblin continues with unrelenting fervour. His mistrust of trolls, orcs, and wargs guides his every step, even as he shows a surprising leniency towards Men, including those from far southern lands whose identities remain a mystery to him.

In a move of bitter spite, he has concealed the fabled Elf-Hewer and the crown of bones, hiding them from both potential claimants and rivals.
